7” Rise Step Measurements
For the Port-A-Step units:
2 step Port-A-Step 7” rise:
(24”W x31”L landing with 1 additional step)- low travel trailer that have only one external step. Best for use where the highest outside step is between 10 and 18 inches off the ground.
3 Step Port-A-Step 7” rise:
(24” W x31” L landing with 2 additional steps) - 2 step travel trailer. Best for use where the highest outside step is between 18 and 24 inches off the ground.
4 Step Port-A-Step 7” rise:
(24” W x31” L landing with 3 additional steps)- most travel trailers. Best for use where the highest outside step is between 24 and 30 inches off the ground.
5 Step Port-A-Step 7” rise:
(24” W x31”L landing with 4 additional steps)- tall 5th wheels. Best for use where the highest outside step is higher than 31 inches from the ground.
The 24x31 deck surface is placed on your existing step on your RV unit. The number of steps required depends on the height and number of steps on your RV unit. As a rule of thumb if you now have 3 steps you will want a step set with a deck surface plus 3 steps (4 step Port-A-Step). The first 12” of the top step is an insert that can be customized to fit a narrower step.

Setup is quick and easy.
1. Just insert the legs and tighten by hand if not already installed when received.
2. Fully expand the step unit. (Sometimes it is easier to turn the unit over and pull up on the bottom of the legs.)
3. Install step insert into top step and tightened down wingbolts.
4. Extend the top section over your existing outside step.
5. Adjust the height of the legs and tighten by hand.
